City of Hull Young Musicians' Friends' Association

The Friends' Association exists to support the numerous ensembles, bands, orchestras and the choir in their work to help young people benefit from music-making.  The committee consists of eighteen members who work tirelessly to raise funds for the purchase of music and any necessary items for each group, as well as supporting the annual tours of the bands and orchestras to foreign cities by subsidising each participant's payment.

Activities by the Friends' Association include running stalls at the City Hall and Albemarle Music Centre concerts, Craft Fairs, Tombolas, refreshments at concerts, Barn Dances, Race Nights, the 200 club, and any other way they can possibly find to make money in their pursuit to support our pupils' music-making for example recycling - Please bring spent printer cartridges, old mobile phones and aluminium cans to the Albemarle Music Centre for re-cycling - this can raise up to £1,000 per year!

Becoming a member of the Friends' Association is easy, and saves you money at the same time! - joining the Friends' Association will give you discounts at music shops (great news for parents of instrumentalists), discounts at City Hall concerts (great news for music lovers), simply click on the Join the Friends link above and follow the instructions.
